Next-level health: We move the gaming industry

Gamescom 2024 was once again the highlight of the year for the gaming industry and we were there with our Sitness RS brand with a clear goal: to make the trade fair an unforgettable experience and share our enthusiasm for movement!

While the gaming industry is developing rapidly and games are becoming ever more sophisticated, the question of gamer well-being often remains in the background. However, ergonomics, i.e. adapting the working environment to human needs, plays a key role in the health and performance of gamers.

At Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, we presented our innovative gaming chairs that perfectly combine movement and comfort with our Sitness RS brand. Our conclusion: Two days of pure action at Gamescom! Highlights, emotions and unforgettable moments with prominent support from the streaming world. Our partners Huebi, Max Schradin, Chefstrobel, Kuba and many more brought the action directly to our stand in Hall 10.1. Come and see for yourself:

One of the highlights of the trade fair is the Sitness RS Pro, our AGR-approved gaming chair, which enables continuous movement in all directions thanks to the integrated Sitness technology and whose ergonomic design and dynamic seat mechanism ensure long-lasting sitting comfort.

The Sitness RS collection is not only aimed specifically at gamers, but also at anyone who values health, performance and sportiness when sitting. The functionality and design ‘Made in Germany’ set new standards in the gaming industry.

The importance of ergonomics in gaming

Ergonomics is the science of adapting working conditions to people. Whilst many people associate the term with office work or industrial work, it is just as relevant to gaming. Sitting in front of a screen for hours on end, concentrated gaming and repetitive movements can put a lot of strain on the body. Without suitable ergonomic measures, gamers can suffer from back pain, neck tension, eye problems and even long-term damage to their health.

Gaming often requires long periods of concentrated sitting. This inactivity can lead to a variety of problems:

  • Back pain: Sitting in the wrong position for long periods puts strain on the spine. The lumbar spine is particularly at risk, which can lead to chronic back pain.

  • Neck and shoulder tension: Gamers often sit in a position where their shoulders are pulled forwards and the neck is under a lot of strain. This leads to muscle tension and pain.neck and shoulder tension.

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome: Constant use of the mouse and keyboard can lead to overstraining of the wrists, which increases the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.

  • Eye problems: Long screen time without breaks can lead to dry eyes, headaches and vision problems, a phenomenon known as ‘computer vision syndrome’.Carpal tunnel syndrome: Constant use of the mouse and keyboard can lead to overuse of the wrists, which increases the risk of carpal tunnel syndrome.

This makes it all the more important to choose a healthy, mobile gaming chair.
