The 8 most frequently asked questions about swivel chairs
1) The height adjustment is not working. What can I do?
Ensure the plug connection is in place after assembly by sitting firmly on the seat.
In order to be able to adjust the height of the swivel chair, the right-hand lever (seen when sitting on the chair) under the seat must be pulled strongly. No weight may be placed on the seat!
If the lift still does not move up, you can help the initial release by additionally pulling up the seat. To do this it is best if you place your feet on the 5-star base on the floor and with your right hand pull the lever and with your left hand pull the seat upwards.
2) How can I exchange the lift?
3) How can I assemble the castors in the base?
The castors are factory-fitted with a small open metal ring. This later clamps the castor tightly in the base. The pin must be completely sunk into the base. We recommend placing the base on its back in order to press the castor in from above. With one hand keep one arm of the base on the floor. With the other hand take a castor and with the pin insert position it slightly slanted to the bore of the castor retainer. Now making circular movements press the castor pin into the opening until the pin is sunken in completely. The circular movement compresses the small metal ring which now can be pushed in more easily. In difficult cases you could also lubricate the pin a little.
4) How can I dismantle the chair again?
Just follow the assembly instructions in reverse order to disassemble the chair. As a general rule only some screws and maybe armrests have to be loosened .
5) How does the tilt mechanism of my leather chair work?
In this case the existing lever serves two functions. On the one hand the height adjustment and on the other the tilt function. For the tilt function the lever must generally only be pulled out laterally to release the block. By pressing in the lever the tilt can be blocked again. This is however only possible if the backrest is in an upright position. It is not possible to lock the angled seat.
6) What is the large adjustment wheel in the middle of the seat plate/mechanism and what does the KG sign on the assembly plan stand for?
The hand wheel serves to strengthen the backrest in the tilt function. Through this pressure setting you can adjust the counter-pressure of the back to your own needs. In other words, if a slight counter-pressure is desired when the tilt function is open, you can tighten the hand wheel by repeatedly turning it clockwise. In the other direction towards the left you reduce the pressure. (Can be chosen freely at your own discretion)
7) The castors roll very poorly – what can this be due to?
a) Please note that the castors on our chairs are automatically set for carpets. For laminate,
tile, cork and parquet flooring we recommend the use of “hard floor” castors and
additionally a floor protection mat.
b) Additionally these castors are equipped with safety brakes. Only once weight is applied on
the chair is the lock released and the castors move. If no weight is applied the locking
facility of the castors prevents the chair from rolling away independently.
8) On which points you have to pay attention by the adjustment of the chair?
- Adjust the seating height correctly. Your legs have to be in an angle of 90°
- Put your legs flat on the bottom
