Pioneering spirit and inventiveness have a long tradition in the family Wagner, who are the owners of the Swabian-Bavarian swivel chair specialist Topstar^®. Moritz Wagner who is the grandfather of  the current managing directors had already begun to create a fabric for the manufacturing of wooden chairs in the present-day location of Topstar^® in Langenneufnach near Augsburg in 1949.

At first he supplied the regional cabinetmakers and later the first furniture merchants like Krügel as well as Quelle. Moritz Wagner always developed new production technologies to improve the quality of the products. With his development of the cone connection assembly for gaslifts of swivel chairs he was the founder of the production focusing on swivel chairs for the future.

In 1976 Michael and Christine Wagner founded the TOPSTAR GmbH.  In cooperation with the three sons Rainer, Michael jun. and Peter Wagner the company has become the most important and most innovative manufacturer of swivel chairs for the Home Office and the Office sector. Since healthy seating has led to the development and creation of swivel chairs for children, youths and adults for the home or the professional office is and has always been a new challenge for the developers of Topstar^®. Rainer Wagner who is the present leader of the company together with his two brother says: “This means that we are always up to date in seating research and we have consistently put forward new sales-boosting arguments together with our latest swivel chair developments."
